MyTravelPal — Terms of Service

Last updated: 2026-08-28

These terms govern your use of MyTravelPal ("the App"), a road-trip planning service for European drivers. By installing or using the App you agree to them.

1. What MyTravelPal does

MyTravelPal helps you plan road trips: route computation, optimal departure time, meal and sleep stops, toll and fuel cost estimates, weather along the route, and hotel/restaurant suggestions.

Estimates are approximations. Distances, driving times, tolls, fuel prices and hotel rates come from public data sources (OSM/OSRM, government fuel feeds, Open-Meteo, Geoapify) and heuristic models. They can be wrong. Always cross-check critical information (toll booth prices, hotel availability, road closures) with authoritative sources before you commit.

2. Your account

3. Free and paid features

The core planning features are free. If we introduce paid features in the future ("Premium"), we will describe them clearly in the app at the point of purchase. Payment is processed by Google Play Billing or Apple App Store — we never see your card details.

Refunds follow the store's standard policy (Google Play: usually 48h window; App Store: contact Apple).

4. Acceptable use

You agree NOT to:

Violations may result in account suspension.

5. Data providers and third parties

The App integrates with third-party services (see Privacy Policy for the full list). We do not control those services' terms; they apply to your use of their content:

Any transaction you complete on those partner sites is between you and them; MyTravelPal is not a party to it.

6. Liability

MyTravelPal is provided "as is". We work hard on accuracy but cannot guarantee that:

You drive at your own risk. MyTravelPal is not liable for damages arising from following (or not following) its recommendations, including missed reservations, unexpected costs, delays, or road incidents. To the maximum extent allowed by law, our aggregate liability for any claim related to the App is capped at the amount you have paid us in the last 12 months (0 € for free-tier users).

Nothing in these terms limits your rights under mandatory consumer protection law in your country (in the EU, the Consumer Rights Directive applies).

7. Termination

You can stop using the App at any time by uninstalling it or by deleting your account (Settings → "Borrar mi cuenta").

We may terminate accounts that violate section 4. In that case we delete your data within 30 days, unless we are legally required to retain it.

8. Governing law

These terms are governed by Spanish law. Disputes go to the courts of [your city, Spain]. This does not affect your rights as a consumer to bring proceedings in your country of residence.

9. Changes

We may update these terms as the service evolves. Material changes will be announced in-app at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use after a change means you accept the new terms.
